12 year old me was absolutely blown away when this came out. I’m probably forgetting something huge but these are all the things that stood out. the ability to date a girlfriend and get benefits from herĪnd there’s so much more. Planes, helicopters, boats, novelty vehicles like the Quad, bicycles, and street sweeper -trainable weapon skill and the ability to dual wield -big additions to weapons (3 “classes” of weapon) including novelty weapons such as camera, spray can utility weapon slot items such as night vision goggles and parachute. heavily customizable vehicles with 3 types of garages depending on the vehicle type -a huge variety of new vehicles. the ability to swim (FINALLY) -the ability to buy a house for a save point and walk inside and explore it -the ability to parachute out of a plane/off a building -gambling -massive new ability to change clothes with tons of clothing options, accessories, and stores that scale up from broke to boujie as hell -RPG elements with trainable stats including stamina, sex appeal, muscle, fat, respect for the main character (this one was huge and was the only time Rockstar implemented this so far).
I will just list what Stands out most to me below that were new features: It just felt like such a massive world compared to the previous titles. When San Andreas came out, it came with a plethora of fun shit to do that we never could. Before anyone angrily replies, I know there were hidden pAckages, paramedic/cop missions, rampages and so on, but those little mini games were it. At that time, there was practically nothing to do in the 3D universe besides missions for the main story.
